In a statement released on June 20, the Warzone developers shared specific details on all of the changes coming to Caldera, including the return of a fan-favorite location in Verdansk.

Storage Town

Players quickly noticed that the iconic Storage Town location of Verdansk is now visible southwest of Mines, replacing the ancient ruins that used to be there.

This location remains largely intact with how players remember it on Verdansk, but there are a few changes. For instance, “because it’s built into the side of a hill, this version of Storage Town provides solid sightlines to adjacent areas, rather than being wedged between a massive pool structure and other high ground.

Storage Town will be making a comeback to Warzone in Season 4.

New Locations and Environment Updates

The developers also worked hard in an effort to improve Caldera’s locations and landscape, reducing the “lush jungles and extensive foliage” for better clarity during gameplay.

Players will now find various micropoints of interest across Caldera, including “small camps that spawn from outside the station to the airstrip“. Players will be able to find a “new military camp that occupies the open space above the tunnel east of Peak“.

In Capital there is now “scaffolding and bridges” that connect buildings together for smoother gameplay. Players will now be able to move effortlessly from rooftop to rooftop in Capital, especially around the “bustling central district that contains the fire station and apartment complexes.

Capital will receive many changes for this new season.

At the Excavation Site, massive skulls and bones were removed using a “successful search“, which means that there are now fewer potential protections.

Players can now find a ship in the Arsenal Drydock, which allows for more loot.

In Caldera’s hottest drop point, Peak, the developers decided to implement “new stairs and view changes” to facilitate maneuvers at this location.

Additionally, north of the main Peak building, there will be a new industrial micro-location which is described as a “great place to stock up on groceries“. This will be a great jumping off point for those looking to loot away from the madness of Peak.

The statement also details areas of Caldera where the water has dried up due to a “unexpected heat wave“. This includes Villages, Docks, and various other places in the Caldera where there were rivers and other bodies of water.

The developers believe this should improve movement through these areas and allow for more loot to be found.

Changes to Caldera Bunkers

Changes are also planned for the seven main Caldera bunkers. In Warzone Pacific Season 4, these main bunkers are now controlled by mercenaries, and accessing them requires a map.

Players will be able to find these cards in Supply Crates, Contracts, and even on enemy corpses that find them during a game. Once picked up, the card is bound to the player and can “only be used once on any of the seven bunkers”.
