all hope is not lost for the collector

Could Naughty Dog convince Sony to release more Collector’s Editions of The Last of Us Part 1? The studio shared their desire to please fans around the world.

It was the big disappointment when The Last of Us Remake was announced. In addition to revealing the long-rumoured game to great fanfare, Sony also unveiled a collector’s edition: the Firefly Edition. Except that here it is (again) exclusive only in the United States. The only way to own it currently: spend $400 on eBay and the like where the scalpers are having a field day. Yet all hope is not lost.

Hope for The Last of Us Remake collector?

Questioned on social networks about this, Neil Druckmann confirmed that Naughty Dog was on the spot. The studio behind Joel and Ellie’s Adventures has confirmed that it was not behind the decision and has expressed a desire to release the Collector’s Edition in more countries. ” VSKing me, we’d like to give away more Firefly editions to our fans! We got the message across!”explains the creator of The Last of Us Part 1. In another message, he also confirms having also touched two words to Sony concerning Europe and other countries.

Hopefully his words will be heard by Sony’s marketing teams who will finally decide to spoil collectors and fans outside the United States. For the moment, PlayStation France has confirmed to us that no collector’s edition or other special version is planned on our territory. Hopefully that will change soon, but it will surely still be a war to get it. The Firefly edition was indeed only available through the US PS Direct and it sold out in a fraction of minutes. And it took just as long for some to end up on sale at exorbitant prices.
