As a leak several months ago, Activision presented (source in English) officially Warzone 2the continuation of his Battle Royale. Like the previous one, Warzone 2 will be a separate and free game mode, with nevertheless a link with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 in terms of weapons and content. All info about Warzone 2
The new Battle Royale will start on November 16 with a first map: Al-Mazrah. Activision has listed the main elements of the game which will therefore replace Warzone.
Warzone 2 will therefore include:
- A new map, Al Mazrah, designed for the next-gen
- A Gulag 2.0 including a 2v2 mode
- A proximity chat system for specific situations (Gulag)
- Multiple circles and zones for less passive strategies
- The weapons and operators of MW2 (2022 version)
- A map based on POIs related to MW2 (2009 version)
- Presence of AI on the map including ” The jailer »
In detail, the new map includes many more water areas, allowing combat with amphibious vehicles. This is made up of 16 specific areas, taken from the main maps of Modern Warfare 2 (the 2009 version). Non-player characters will also be present, including ” The jailer (The Jailer in English) which was teased by the developers without giving more information about it.
Gulag 2.0 is an upgrade to Warzone’s Gulag with some significant changes. First of all, the Gulag turns into 2v2 with a system that will give you a temporary teammate during the fight. For the sake of communication, a local chat will be active during the confrontation. Note that the Gulag 2.0 will take place in a slightly wider and more open area, with loot.
In addition, one of the big changes in the Al Mazrah map is the presence of several circles. Thus, the gas will close in several places, allowing players several strategies and a different rhythm of the game.
Available on November 16, Warzone 2 will also benefit from weapons and equipment from Modern Warfare 2 (2022 release). The FPS being available at the same time (October 28), players will be able to take advantage of the almost simultaneous releases of the two games to unlock content.
Warzone 2 release date
The official release date for Call of Duty Warzone 2 has been set for November 16, 2022. The game will therefore be released two weeks after Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2022 (or MW 2), allowing for a lot of ties between the two games. As with Warzone, Warzone 2 will be free-to-play and a game in its own right, not a game mode.
