“All the women and men I’ve loved”: Etienne Daho with an open heart on his love stories

He is a mysterious character who agrees, on rare occasions, to reveal himself. Even when it comes to the darkest times of his life. Now Etienne Daho is pouring out his heart again, confiding in a beautiful biographical book, written by his close friend Sylvie Coma, in particular returning to his secret childhood. But not only. The singer, 66, is currently working on his 13th studio album, titled Shoot the stars at night, which should notably talk about love. Like the rest of his discography, such as Bodies and weapons or of Paris elsewhere.

With very few exceptions, we remained friends

All my albums are about thatExplain Etienne Daho in the pages of the magazine Paris Match. Every love song is a celebration, because a story never really ends, it evolves into something else, into something eternal, and I find that quite fantastic. elli [Medeiros, NDLR.], my first lover, is still there, all the women and all the men I have loved, I still love them. With very few exceptions, we remained friends.”

I only live pretty crazy passions

Etienne Daho and Elli Medeiros actually parted as good friends. They never hesitated to work together. In 2006, for example, they produced the album EM together. She had, in the past, ensured her first part at the Olympia in Paris. But why did these love stories come to an end? When discussing the impact of his career on his personal life, the singer affirms, “it didn’t help“.”I only live quite mad, absolute passions, I don’t know how to love in a reasonable way, I don’t know how to do it. And that’s what I say in my next album“, he assures. His next opus, Shoot the stars at night should be released as soon as all of its titles are completed. See you, therefore, in a few weeks to discover all this…
