All unknown on TF1: what is the bonus reunion of the Unknowns worth?

Monday November 14, 2022, TF1 broadcasts from 9:10 p.m. the TV movie reunion of the Unknowns, with Didier Bourdon, Bernard Campan and Pascal Légitimus. Accompanied by a host of guests, the trio revisits its greatest sketches… A success?

What is it about ?

“What if the Unknowns woke up one day in a world where the Unknowns are truly unknown? In this unpublished fiction, the three comedians are once again reunited in a program that is surprising to say the least.

One morning, the three accomplices, Pascal Légitimus, Didier Bourdon and Bernard Campan have the unpleasant surprise to discover that no one recognizes them and that the group of comedians never existed.

Then begins a quest for our three friends who will try to understand this absurd situation. As the story progresses, they discover that their sketches and cult songs do exist, but that they have been interpreted by other actors.

The viewer then discovers at the same time as the trio these new versions of these sketches which have marked several generations and inspired the greatest comedians: Les chasseurs, C’est toi que je t’aime, Vice et versa, Auteuil Neuilly Passy, Rap -everything, The police station, Turn households, Isabelle has blue eyes…

And many other sketches will be revisited for the occasion by new casts of comedians, actors and singers.

Who is it with?

For this TV movie (directed by Nicolas Hourès) featuring their best sketches, Les Inconnus surrounded themselves with a host of stars. To replay these cult scenes, viewers will find Arnaud Ducret, Antoine Duléry, François Berléand, Camille Combal, McFly and Carlito, Manu Payet, Jonathan Lambert…

But that’s not all: JoeyStarr, Hélène Mannarino, Michel Boujenah, FX Demaison, Soprano, Christophe Willem, Medi Sadoun, Claudio Capéo, Florent Peyre, Ahmed Sylla, Baptiste Lecaplain, Caroline Anglande, Cartman, Vincent Desagnat, Arthur, Pierre Palmade will also be there.

Finally, Artus, Elodie Fontan, Elodie Frégé, Philippe Lacheau, Maxime Gasteuil, Eric Antoine, Elie Semoun, Gil Alma, Bénabar, Frédéric Bouraly, Jean-Luc Lemoine, Chantal Ladesou, Jarry, M. Pokora, Adil Rami, Nikos Aliagas, Isabelle Nanty, Pascal Elbe, Patrick Chesnais, Héléna Noguerra, Bérengère Krief, Mathieu Madénian, Virginie Hocq… and still others complete the list!

Well worth a look ?

Seeing Les Inconnus reunited is always a great pleasure because the nostalgia effect is guaranteed… However, as soon as this feeling of joy to find them together has passed, this copy-pasted revisit of their sketches falls flat.

Despite the host of prestigious guests who follow one another to pay tribute to the work of the trio of comedians, it is clear that the original versions of these scenes are much better than these identically reproduced covers…

The new interludes embodied by Didier Bourdon, Bernard Campan and Pascal Légitimus, which could be of some interest to fans, are not particularly funny either… Indeed, this plot, to follow The Unknowns in a world where they are truly unknown, sorely lacking in bite and the replies are even often lazy. Only the segment with Chrystelle Labaude stands out…

With Tous Inconnus, we have the impression that TF1 simply wants to continue to ride the wave of success that it encountered following the broadcasts of I Love You Coiffure (based on sketches by Muriel Robin) and They love each other… finally almost ! (adapted from the shows by Michèle Laroque and Pierre Palmade). Soon, the front page will also tackle another emblematic format of comedy in France, by re-staged the pastilles of A guy, a girl, played at the time by Jean Dujardin and Alexandra Lamy.

In short, this entertainment unfortunately lacks originality and modernity. Even if it means reviewing these sketches that made us laugh so much, might as well watch a best-of with their true and inimitable performers, much more inspired three decades ago.
