Allison Mack had to be in prison in 2021, and the “Smallville” actress was released from prison on Monday.

Allison Mack (40) is free again. The actress, who was sentenced to three years in prison in 2021 for her involvement in the cult-like group NXIVM, was released from a prison in California on Monday, according to American media.

The “Smallville” actress pleaded guilty in 2021 to recruiting women into the sex cult and conspiring to extort. The charges included human trafficking and forced labour. She faced up to 17.5 years in prison for her crimes. However, since she cooperated with the authorities and apologized to the victims, the punishment was less in the end.

Leader got 120 years imprisonment

The NXIVM group was founded by Keith Raniere (62) in 1998. It was based in Albany and described itself as a self-help organization. In 2017, the “New York Times” revealed what was happening behind the scenes: Between January 2016 and June 2017, women in a secret subgroup of the organization were said to have been branded and forced into sexual acts. Raniere was sentenced to 120 years in prison in 2020. It was later determined that he would have to pay his victims $3.46 million.
