The application dedicated to walking and hiking, AllTrails, is getting a beauty treatment with its summer update. It promises to make life and walks easier for its users.

It’s what we call a real refresh, for one that was named iPhone App of the Year and Google Play’s Best of 2023 last year. AllTrails announced, this Thursday, June 13, 2024, its new major update, touted as being the most important since its creation, which was in 2010. On the menu, in particular, the arrival of Collections, presented on the application as “ a new way to discover thousands of routes that match your nature “. Let’s see all the details.

Collections to more easily target your hikes according to your preferences

Collections are the main new feature deployed with the latest AllTrails update. They allow users to navigate through thousands of itineraries categorized by location, popular attractions or even preferences. For example, you can easily find “dogs welcome”, “panoramic view”, “waterfalls”, “rare pearls” and other walks.

AllTrails indicates that more than 400,000 routes are now available on the application, making it a market benchmark for walking and hiking guides and itineraries.

The application also offers its users park pages, gradually improved over time thanks to the advice of community members, experts and official services of local, regional and national parks around the world. This feature provides access, on AllTrails, to information such as opening hours, prices and recommendations on the best park routes.

Itinerary pages greatly improved by AllTrails, and that’s so much the better

Finally, AllTrails has extensively revised its 400,000 pages of itineraries. The platform’s teams have made sure to make essential route information more accessible, visually speaking. The distance, estimated duration, and format are more visible. The pages directly offer to take a virtual tour of the route, using photos, and to see it in 3D. AI also comes into play, in that it uses the opinions of community members to provide information on the condition of the trails.

AllTrails specifies that this reorganization of the route pages will be available from June 18, 2024 in France. The advanced conditions will be deployed by mid-July.

Please note that although it benefits from a seven-day free trial period, the application remains chargeable, billed at 23.99 euros each year.
