Almost 48 degrees: Canada experiences the highest temperature in its history

During a heat wave in western Canada, local authorities recorded the highest temperature in the history of the North American country. In the village of Lytton (province of British Columbia), the authorities recorded 46.6 degrees on Sunday, as the local weather authority announced. This clearly exceeded the previous record of 45 degrees in Midale (Saskatchewan) from 1937.

On Monday afternoon it got even hotter in the Lytton: A total of 47.9 degrees were measured. As «Meteonews» writes, it has never been so hot globally further north.
