Alone in the Dark reboot leaked ahead of THQ Nordic Showcase

Pioneer of the survival horror genre and precursor to Resident Evil released by Infogrames in 1992, Alone in the Dark is back with this reboot developed by the Swedish studio Pieces Interactive, bought by Embracer in 2017 while working on expansions for Titan Quest . Even if it takes up some basics of the 1992 game, this title presents itself as a complete overhaul in 3D and therefore promises to be the most ambitious project of Pieces Interactive since its creation in 2007.

As we can see on the images, while waiting for the trailer which will not fail to be put online this evening, the camera slips behind the shoulder of the character like a remake of Resident Evil. As in the original work, the action takes place in the southern United States in the 1920s, when Emily Hartwood hires detective Edward Carnby to help her find the trace of her missing uncle. Welcome to the Derceto Manor, a mental asylum where we will meet strange occupants and dangerous monsters while trying to shed light on a conspiracy that is evil to say the least.

According to the leaked description, the game hopes to give players a psychological horror experience with an atmosphere. doom-jazz worthy of the pioneer of the genre, with scarce ammunition, two playable characters and a large Gothic building that reaches out to us. To contribute to the implementation of this reboot, THQ Nordic called on Mikael Hedberg, credited screenwriter who spent on SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
