Last March, the editor THQ Nordic and the developer Interactive Pieces launched Alone in the Darkremake of survival horror cult that laid the foundations of the genre. A title unfortunately far from players’ expectations, the ratings were low, as were the sales, forcing the developer to lay off staff.
But today, the ax falls and it is much more severe. As announced in an official press release, Pieces Interactive closes its doors. Since 2007, the Swedish studio has developed around ten titles such as Puzzlegeddon, Freight Nice, Leviathan Warships, Robo Surf And Kill to Collectbut he is best known for working on franchises Magika And Titan Quest. The developer has belonged since 2017 to Embracer Group (THQ Nordic), who decided to close Interactive Pieces after the failure ofAlone in the Dark.
