Alpenverein Imst – “360 degrees mountains passion” for the big anniversary

The Alpenverein Imst-Oberland celebrates 150 years of existence and 130 years of Muttekopfhütte. The highlight of the anniversary year is an exhibition in the Imster Fasnachtshaus, which from November 12 as part of the art route focuses on mountain panoramas. The most recent historical sensational find from Imst’s mountain and hut history will also be presented: a hut book from 1892.

The focus of the exhibition is on the mountain panoramas that were very popular in the second half of the 19th century. Pictures from various creative periods by Ernst Platz (1908), Leopold Scheiring (1925) and Elmar Kopp (1980) are also shown. On the other hand there will be paintings by the visual artist Hannah Philomena Scheiber from Obergurgl. After completing her studies in Vienna, Florence and New York, the Ötztal native returned to her homeland. With the aim of securing and increasing the cultural capital of the Ötztal. In the exhibition, she interprets the works of the above-mentioned artists in her own way.
