Alphabet: Google unveils its investment plans in the USA


(CercleFinance.com) – Google announced on Wednesday that it plans to invest no less than 9.5 billion dollars in the United States in 2022, an envelope which should allow the creation of at least 12,000 new jobs in the country. by the end of the year.

The Internet giant, a subsidiary of the Alphabet group, recalls that it intends to open its new offices in Atlanta (Georgia) in the course of the year, while continuing to expand its premises in New York.

In Texas, Google says it has made great progress toward opening its new offices to be located in downtown Austin, a project currently under construction.

On the company’s official blog, Sundar Pichai, the general manager of Google and Alphabet, recalls that the Californian group has already invested more than 37 billion dollars in its American offices and data centers over the past five years, which which has created more than 40,000 jobs.

Google also recalls having spent some 40 billion dollars on its research and development (R&D) activities in the United States in the 2020 and 2021 financial years alone.
