Alphabet: Rumors of Google-Apple partnership in AI

(CercleFinance.com) – Alphabet soars this Monday on the New York Stock Exchange amid rumors of a possible partnership with Apple in artificial intelligence (AI).

Around 10:00 a.m. (Wall Street time), Google’s parent company is at the top of the rises in the S&P 500 index and gains more than 6%, which allows it to return close to its historic highs.

According to information revealed by Bloomberg, Apple and Google are in discussions with a view to integrating Gemini, the generative AI technology developed by the search engine, within the iPhone ecosystem.

The agency, citing sources close to the matter, specifies that the negotiations concern a licensing agreement which would make it possible for Gemini to supply certain new features planned for this year on the device.

From the point of view of analysts at Wedbush Securities, such an agreement would have the advantage of validating the strategy deployed by Google in AI, recently subject to questioning on Wall Street.

“Market sentiment regarding the ambitions displayed by Google in AI has been very volatile in recent months,” recalls the research office, which recognizes that Microsoft and OpenAI have taken a lead in this area. .

According to Wedbush, a collaboration with Apple would demonstrate Google’s ability to effectively monetize its AI services by generating comfortable additional revenues with high profit margins.
