Alphabet: YouTube signs partnership with Shopify

(CercleFinance.com) – YouTube, the video-sharing site of the American Internet giant Alphabet, announced on Tuesday the signing of a new partnership agreement with the Canadian software publisher for e-commerce Shopify.

On its corporate blog, YouTube explains that this collaboration aims to allow content creators and online sellers to promote their products directly from their YouTube channel.

Video creators will be able to display the items they sell from the platform and benefit from the real-time inventory functionality developed by Shopify to prevent users from being redirected to sold-out items.

American creators will be able to deploy a payment system within their page that will allow viewers to complete their purchases without leaving YouTube.

According to a study carried out by Publicis and TalkShoppe, 89% of YouTube users say they trust the recommendations issued by content creators.
