Alpine emergency – Six German hikers were stuck at 1800 meters

On Monday, the six Germans climbed from Baad (Kleinwalsertal) over the middle and upper Spitalalpe towards the Upper Derrenalpe. After crossing some old snow fields, the hikers got stuck on a hiking trail between the upper Spitalalpe and the upper Derrenalpe.

Since the group, consisting of six people aged between 24 and 61, did not trust themselves to descend from around 1800 metres above sea level, the sextet finally called the rescue services. Due to the fog and rain, a helicopter was not possible. Group accompanied to the valleyThe mountain rescuers from Mittelberg set off on foot and ensured that the six Germans arrived back in the valley unharmed. In addition to the Mittelberg mountain rescue service, the Kleinwalsertal Alpine Police were also on duty.
