A year ago, Renault lifted the veil on its electric roadmap through the Renaulution project. A project focused on the four major brands of the group, which are Renault, Alpine, Dacia and Mobilize, created for the occasion. At the time, the details of this major offensive were not really known yet.

But over the past few months, the fog of yesteryear has gradually dissipated to begin to see things more clearly. Today, this is particularly the case for the Alpine sports entity, whose intentions are better understood through an article signed Hybrids and Electrics, a reliable Spanish site specialized in the automobile.

Not before 2025

We learn in particular that Alpine is focusing on an electric SUV cut by the name of Alpine GT X-Over. This future competitor to the Tesla Model Y Performance, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Porsche Macan, will not come into production until 2025 in the French factory in Dieppe.

This industrial site is currently undergoing work to oversee the manufacture of new connected vehicles. In any case, 2025 remains a relatively distant deadline which will allow the sector to become even more structured and the competition to bring out other electric cars.

Still according to the Iberian media, which quotes Renault officials, the Alpine GT X-Over will be based on the CMF-EV platform, the same as the Mégane E-Tech expected in the course of 2022 Powers of 215 and 400 hp are mentioned depending on the presence of one or two engines (all-wheel drive).

Performance and dynamism

The other technical information of the vehicle has not yet filtered, although its configuration would give pride of place to dynamism and performance. Without this, hopefully, being at the expense of comfort, as is sometimes the case on some models today.

Renault has great ambitions in the field of electric cars. The tricolor company will, for example, turn its back on thermals from 2030, the date from which its catalog will be composed of 35 models. And this thanks to an investment of 23 billion euros initiated by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.
