On the giant’s legendary track in Adelboden (Switzerland), Alexis Pinturault won bronze, while Tessa Worley, sparkling in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia), won silver.
The current holder of the big World Cup globe has thus found the podium at the giant of Adelboden, after two failures at Alta Badia. But impossible, however, to fight against an untouchable Marco Odermatt.
The Swiss skier flew over the last giant slalom in front of his audience, before the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Odermatt, who takes his fourth victory out of five races contested this season, is ahead of the Austrian Manuel Feller. He thus consolidates his first place in the general classification, with 376 points ahead of the Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.
Alexis Pinturault was not unworthy, however, by finishing 54 hundredths behind the winner. The French skier thus climbs on his 74th podium in the World Cup. Frenchman Mathieu Faivre, reigning giant world champion, finished in fifth place.

On the women’s side, Tessa Worley has shown Olympic form in Slovenia.
After her victory last week in Lienz (Austria), the Frenchwoman grabbed second place in Kranjska Gora, behind Sweden’s Sara Hector. The 32-year-old skier thus finished fifth, fourth, first and now second of her last four giants. The Italian Marta Bassino completes the podium.
