Already 8 Star Wars games in development: Disney wants more!

Consume, consume, wring, exploit… Use the verb you want but one thing is certain: Disney intends to profit from one of the most lucrative franchises of all time, Star Wars. Whether with his series on Disney + like The Mandalorian or Obi Wan Kenobi, thousands of goodies, theme parks, celebrations around the world or even books: there is plenty to do and, like all these media, the video game is also a real gold mine.

The 8 Star Wars games in development

Insider now renowned on the web, Tom Henderson revealed that the Disney juggernaut wanted release a Star Wars game every six months. A colossal but rather logical project since Electronic Arts no longer has the exclusive title development. The license can now be used by dozens of other studios and Disney does not intend to hold back.

Officially, we already have 8 Star Wars games in development that should be released in the coming years:

  • A new title not yet announced by Amy Hennig’s studio: Skydance Media,
  • An as yet unannounced FPS from Respawn Entertainment,
  • An Unannounced Open-World Game From Ubisoft Massive
  • The famous Star Wars: Eclipse from Quantic Dream which should be released around 2025,
  • The remake of Knights of the Old Republic which changed studios in progress and is now being developed by Saber Interactive,
  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (the highly anticipated sequel to Fallen Order) developed by Respawn Entertainment,
  • Star Wars: Hunters, a mobile and Nintendo Switch arena game developed by Zynga
  • An unannounced strategy game from Respawn Entertainment

What else can we expect?

The Star Wars license is so vast that the possibilities seem endless. With the success of certain series for example, we could very well imagine a game mandalorian or Kenobi. Of course, we should probably not expect 2 big triple A per year but rather titles of all kinds: mobile games, mmo, free to play, rpg etc… In 2023 for example, we will have the right the long-awaited Star Wars Jedi Survivor (sequel to Fallen Order) and Star Wars Hunters, a game that is much less dreamy but which will obviously reach its own audience.

Maybe the recent Disney title Dreamlight Valley will also feature Star Wars characters in the future, who knows?

nintendo

While the Nintendo community was impatiently awaiting news of a future console, Nvidia accidentally leaked the existence of the Nintendo Switch 2, in addition to part of its internal configuration… Enough to panic the networks! Let’s see it all together.
