already fewer players than on Halo Masterchief Collection

By dint of waiting, PC players of Halo Infinite have lost patience and are deserting the game. On Steam, Halo: The Master Chief Collection happens to be more popular.

When it does not want, it does not want. A few months after its release, Halo Infinite pays the broken pots of the broken promises which irritated the community. On Steam, users are moving on… waiting for a rebound with season 2?

Halo Infinite looking for players

As of this writing, and even looking back 24 hours, Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s servers are busier than Halo Infinite’s, with 5,092 and 2,858 players respectively. And over the last few hours, the peak is 9,123 against 7,842 players.

If we compare the launch to the months that followed it, we can see the tumble both vis-à-vis the average player and the peak (the data written below).

  • November 2021: 256,619
  • December 2021: 147,782
  • January 2022: 62,731
  • February 2022: 31,780
  • March 2022: 15,961
  • Last 30 days: 11,999

And a curve to illustrate the activity of Halo Infinite:

Season 2 Lone Wolves, time for reconquest?

Lone Wolves, Season 2 of Halo Infinite Multiplayer, will go live on May 3. And with it, 343 Industries still plays big. Developers must reverse the trend with what they have been developing for several weeks. Namely new maps, new modes (including Last Spartan Standing), a new battle pass and temporary in-game events. Impossible mission ? We will see, but when it was released, Halo Infinite attracted quite a few people, more than Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Nothing is lost and the ascent is possible.

Halo Infinite is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.
