A new streaming service? There is hardly any interest in this anymore, after all, the selection is already large and only a few series fans can afford a subscription to all notable providers. At the same time, the US service MAX also has its appeal here, as it is the official home of all HBO and Warner Bros. productions.
Sky and WOW are currently taking on this task in Germany, but MAX has now announced that the streaming service should come to Europe on May 21, 2024 – in time for season 2 of “House of the Dragon” and before the Olympic Games in Paris. What does this mean for us?

Although MAX clearly names Central Europe as the new MAX home in the press release about the expansion of the streaming service, Germany, Austria and Switzerland continue to be an exception.
The contracts between Warner Bros. and Sky don’t end until 2025. This also applies to Italy, where MAX cannot yet start either. “House of the Dragon” season 2 can still be seen exclusively on Sky and WOW in Germany, but things will probably look different for season 3.
