Bayern Munich’s new sports director Max Eberl has ruled out an immediate separation from coach Thomas Tuchel in the event of failure in the Champions League against Lazio. When asked whether the coach would then stay, Eberl replied on Prime Video: “Yes, there is no other opinion at the moment.” The Munich team go into the game with a 0-1 deficit from the first leg.
Tuchel will leave Bayern at the end of the season, a year before his contract expires. When asked whether he had made any progress in the search for a coach, Eberl did not want to comment further. “That would be the quickest coaching hire there has been in the Bundesliga if you start on March 1st and have a coach on March 6th.
