Alstom: a new industrial site inaugurated in Italy – 03/03/2023 at 16:30


(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announced on Friday the inauguration of its new industrial site in Valmadrera, on the shores of Lake Como, which it intends to manufacture power supply equipment for its trains, metros and trams.

The French group indicates that it has devoted an investment of nearly two billion euros to the project, in particular through the installation of new digital control equipment, laboratory test machines and automated storage systems.

The Valmedrera platform, destined to become a center of excellence for catenary components, conductor rails and catenary-free systems (APS), covers an area of ​​some 9,800 m2.

Alstom recalls that it currently employs more than 3,600 people spread over nine industrial sites around the world.

In the Lecco region, the group manufactures electrification equipment which is then exported to countries such as Algeria, Dubai, France, Japan, Greece or Japan.
