(AOF) – Alstom, a world leader in sustainable and intelligent mobility, and Railpool, one of Europe’s leading railway rolling stock leasing companies, have signed a contract for the delivery of 50 Traxx Universal multi-system locomotives. The value of the contract could reach up to 260 million euros. Traxx Universal multi-system locomotives will be able to be used for freight and passenger transport.
They will be able to circulate in eight European countries, namely Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg and Poland.
All locomotives will be equipped with Atlas, Alstom’s on-board solution for the European Train Control System (ETCS). This solution enables operation on extended corridors with the widest coverage of countries and lines, whether the lines are equipped with ETCS systems or conventional signaling systems.
