(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announces the confirmation, by the Connecticut US State Department of Transportation (CTDOT), of an order for 60 single-level cars, worth approximately 285 million euros (about $315 million).
This order, with options for an additional 313 cars, is part of CTDOT’s car renewal program on the ‘Shore Line East’ and ‘Hartford Line’ lines. Delivery is scheduled for 2026.
According to Alstom, these new-generation, ‘durable and fully customized commuter rail cars, specially designed for North America, will offer users a safe and comfortable service, at a speed of approximately 200 km/h’ .
