(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announces that it has signed a framework contract with leasing company Akiem for a total amount of 500 million euros and relating to 100 Traxx Universal multi-system (MS3) locomotives, including a firm tranche of 65 locomotives.
All locomotives will be equipped with the state-of-the-art ATLAS signaling system, Alstom’s on-board solution for the European Train Control System (ETCS), which offers the widest country and line coverage.
These locomotives will be used in 12 European countries and 55 of them will be operated from France to Europe. Their assembly should take place at the site in Kassel, Germany, and their deliveries are scheduled between 2025 and 2028.
