Alstom: Inauguration of the new generation RER

(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom inaugurated the RER NG in Paris on Monday, its new generation train intended for lines D and E of the RER Ile-de-France.

This more spacious, brighter, more efficient equipment, specifically designed for dense areas, should make it possible to improve the travel conditions of the hundreds of thousands of travelers who use these two lines every day.

The new trains must be gradually put into service on the RER E line, before being deployed across the entire RER E, including the
new line to Nanterre.

This new equipment will then be deployed at the end of 2024 on the RER D.

The train – designed specifically for Ile-de-France – has wide doors to allow great fluidity in the entry and exit of passengers, with distinct travel spaces.

It is also equipped with air conditioning, ergonomic seats, a
LED lighting adapted to the times of travel (day/night/stops at stations), USB sockets and numerous information screens.

This new generation train must also integrate a brand new automation, control and train supervision system intended to increase the frequency of circulation.

The inauguration took place today at Haussmann Saint-Lazare station, in Paris, in the presence of elected officials and travelers.
