Alstom: its hydrogen train travels 1175 km – 09/16/2022 at 11:30

(CercleFinance.com) – During a trip through Germany, Alstom’s Coradia iLint train covered the distance of 1175 kilometers without refueling, emitting only water vapor and traveling with a level remarkably low sound.

For this project, Alstom has partnered with Linde, a specialist gas and engineering company, for the supply of hydrogen.

‘Thanks to this trip, we have once again proven that our hydrogen trains have all the characteristics required to replace diesel trains,’ says Henri Poupart-Lafarge, Chairman and CEO of Alstom.

In addition to the contract with LNVG for 14 Coradia iLint trains for Lower Saxony, Alstom will supply 27 Coradia iLint trains for the Frankfurt region.

Outside Germany, Alstom is building 6 Coradia Stream hydrogen trains in Lombardy (Italy), with an additional option for 8 additional cars.
