(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announces the signing of a turnkey contract worth 156 million euros in Italy, with Infra.To.
The group will supply, on the one hand, its latest fully automated train-to-train CBTC system for line 1 of the Turin metro, and, on the other hand, four new Metropolis trains. The contract includes an option for twelve additional Metropolis trains.
Alstom will oversee the development, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of its CBTC solution, which is to replace the current signaling system on the existing line and equip Line 1 trains on the new Fermi extension – Cascine Vica.
“The metros will also be equipped with Alstom’s innovative CBTC solution, which enables fully automated operation and therefore increased capacity on all lines,” explains Michele Viale, Managing Director of Alstom Italy.
