PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Railway equipment manufacturer Alstom announced on Wednesday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the transport company Saudi Railway Company for the development of hydrogen mobility solutions for trains in Saudi Arabia.

“The aim is to explore opportunities for the future of sustainable mobility in Saudi Arabia and actively work to develop and implement solutions related to railway infrastructure and capacity” within the framework of the “Saudi Vision 2030” plan, the aim of which is to reduce the country’s dependence on oil, Alstom said in a press release.

Alstom did not provide details on the content and financial terms of the agreement.
