Alstom: signs contract for train system in Israel


(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom, with its partners Electra and Minrav, announces that it has signed a contract for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the light rail system between Haifa and Nazareth, with the Trans Israel company.

Called ‘NofiT’, this project is valued at 1 billion euros. Alstom’s share is valued at more than 700 million euros, including the maintenance contract worth around 140 million euros.

Concretely, Alstom will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, integration, testing and commissioning of the light train system, including the tracks, electrification, power supply to energy saving, signaling, the communication system, depot equipment, as well as the supply and maintenance of 54 Citadis trams.

Electra and Minrav will manage the civil engineering works, from design to construction. Operation and maintenance will be carried out by a joint venture made up of Electra Afikim, Minrav and Alstom.
