(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announces today the signing of two new signaling and electrification contracts in Romania.

This contract is signed as part of the modernization works of the first two sections of the Cluj Napoca-Oradea line.

Both contracts were signed by the Asocierea RailWorks consortium, made up of Alstom and the Romanian public works company Arcada, with CFR SA, the Romanian state rail infrastructure operator.

Alstom will provide digital solutions for train control, traffic management and electrification infrastructure. Arcada will carry out all the civil works.

“In recent years, Bucharest has become a strategic hub for Alstom’s signaling expertise, employing more than 200 highly qualified engineers, whose expertise serves local and international projects,” said Gabriel Stanciu, Managing Director of Alstom for Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova.
