Alstom Spain wins the order for the propulsion system for 25 TGVs for Sweden – 07/07/2022 at 10:51


(AOF) – Alstom’s industrial site in Trápaga (Spain) will be responsible for supplying the propulsion system for the new Zefiro Express high-speed trains, which the manufacturer will supply to the Swedish national operator SJ. This project is part of the contract awarded to Alstom for the supply of 25 Zefiro Express high-speed electric trains, with an option of 15 additional trains. The value of the first firm order is around 650 million euros and the delivery of the first train is scheduled for 2026.

In Spain, Alstom employs approximately 3,000 people, including 200 at the Trápaga site. In the Iberian Peninsula, the group has 27 sites including 4 sites dedicated to innovation and technology as well as 3 factories dedicated to the manufacture of industrial components.

Great prospects with green hydrogen for the electricity sector

The French hydrogen plan of 7 billion euros, which has been increased to 9 billion, aims to develop an industrial sector for the production of low-carbon hydrogen. Gimélec, the group of companies in the digital electronics sector in France, has identified strong benefits for manufacturers of electrical equipment. For its members, the economic benefits are estimated at 10 billion euros by 2030, then an additional 20 billion for the period 2030 to 2040, mainly for the sector of manufacturers of digital electronic equipment (from transformers to control systems ). This will lead to massive recruitment, in particular in the areas where hydrogen development efforts will be concentrated, in the Mediterranean and in the Seine Valley.
