(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announced on Friday May 26 that its Chinese joint venture Alstom NUG Propulsion System had recently successfully tested its new generation of silicon carbide (SIC) and its permanent magnet motor (PMM) propulsion system. on a Chengdu Line 7 demonstration train and that it had started operating with passengers.

“The demonstration train was the first to introduce a revolutionary traction system in China that combined both a full silicon carbide traction converter and a permanent magnet synchronous motor,” Alstom said.
