Whether you’re a hobby craftsman or a professional, many people use a construction site radio on the construction site, in the workshop or in the garden. They provide musical entertainment and, above all, are significantly more robust than classic indoor devices. They can also be operated with tool batteries and can be changed quickly if the juice runs out. Lidl currently has such a radio from its own brand, Parkseite, at a reasonable price.

The construction site radio combines Bluetooth speakers with FM and digital DAB+ radio. The advantage of a construction site radio over a Bluetooth speaker is that it can withstand even small impacts or falls.

The device can be operated using a power cable connected to the socket or using a battery from the discounter’s 12 or 20 volt range. If you need the battery for the screwdriver, simply plug the construction site radio into the cable drum and continue listening to music.

Music streaming services can be used via smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and streamed to the construction site radio. Analogue FM and digital DAB+ radio are also available. There are also two USB inputs, one for playing music and one for charging mobile devices.

The sound output is 2 x 5 watts. Unfortunately, the discounter does not provide any information about water and dust resistance. Therefore, it is better to put the device in a dry place when it rains. Lidl’s offer is really good, even if it doesn’t come with a battery. The equipment is impressive.

  • Reception options: DAB / DAB+ / FM

  • Speaker power: 2 x 5W

  • Power supply: via power supply or battery

The Parkside construction site radio is available exclusively from Lidl. The price is fair, as branded devices often cost significantly more. Most recently, the discounter is charging around 83 euros for the device, so you are currently saving a few more euros.
