After the Netflix hit "Sweet Magnolias", the next wellbeing series is already in the starting blocks with "Always there for you".
Wellbeing series are more popular than ever. No wonder, as they offer the perfect escape from the Corona reality. With "Virgin River" or "Sweet Magnolias" Netflix recently delivered real surprise hits. New episodes have already been ordered. And with "Always there for you" the next hit could already be ready. Netflix shows the first season with a total of ten episodes from February 3rd.
Based on the bestseller "Firefly Lane"
Like "Virgin River" and "Sweet Magnolias", "Always there for you" has a successful literary model. The series is based on the "New York Times" bestseller "Firefly Lane" by Kristin Hannah (60), who also acts as executive producer.
The focus is on the two friends Kate and Tully. From childhood on, the two have gone through thick and thin and together master all the ups and downs that life – be it as teenagers or in their forties – has in store for them. But then a breach of trust shakes their decades-long friendship.
Cast with plenty of series experience
Two experienced series stars shine in the main roles: Katherine Heigl (42) and Sarah Chalke (44). Heigl plays the ambitious Tully. The actress was one of the original cast of the successful doctor series "Grey's Anatomy", but got out after the sixth season after alleged differences with the makers. She appeared in some movies like "27 Dresses" or "Happy New Year" and was most recently seen in the hit series "Suits".
Chalke plays the family-oriented Kate. The 44-year-old made her big breakthrough with the comedy series "Scrubs" on the side of Zach Braff (45). She also appeared in the series "Roseanne" or "How I Met Your Mother". Young actresses Ali Skovbye (18, "Personal Effects") and Roan Curtis (25, "The Magicians") play Tully and Kate as teenagers. Other roles include Ben Lawson (40, "Designated Survivor") and Beau Garrett (38, "The Good Doctor").
