Alzheimer’s: Roche joins forces with Lilly to improve early diagnosis of the disease – 03/22/2023 at 10:58

(AOF) – The Swiss pharmaceutical group Roche and its American counterpart Lilly will collaborate on the development of Roche Diagnostics’ Elecsys Amyloid Plasma Panel (EAPP), a blood test aimed at facilitating the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. This product has demonstrated clinical performance and is currently undergoing further investigation to ensure clinical validation. Once approved, the panel could help healthcare professionals streamline the path to diagnosis for more patients.

This collaboration is part of the common goal of Roche and Lilly to improve access to rapid and accurate diagnosis and treatment. If approved, the EAPP test will be an additional tool to identify a low likelihood of amyloid pathology in symptomatic patients and determine whether they need further evaluation and testing that may confirm a diagnosis.
