Between portable consoles And mini PCAYANEO does not want to choose and alternates new products in these two segments.
At the end of last year, AYANEO presented its new direction with a more “retro” orientation for some of its ranges. An announcement which was quickly followed by the launch of the AM01.
Inspired by the Apple Macintosh, this first machine was to be followed by the AM02, closer to the Nintendo NES. We now know a little more and, for once, the PC seems quite cheap.

As always, however, things are happening on Indiegogo. AYANEO has just launched the crowdfunding campaign on its preferred platform.
For another 43 days, it is therefore possible to support the manufacturer by ordering one of the versions of the AM02. Knowing that production has in fact already started, AYANEO estimates that delivery will begin from February, at the end of the month.
As we said in the preamble, the AM02 is inspired by a console from the 80s for its design which is – vaguely – reminiscent of Nintendo’s NES. We cannot say that the PC case complies with the NES, but AYANEO has, for example, taken over the cartridge reader flap.
Today, however, there is no question of cartridges and this flap closes access to the front connectors. Opened, it reveals a USB4 Type-C which also serves as DisplayPort for the display. Practical.
A small 4-inch integrated touch screen
It is completed by two classic USB-A and a 3.5 mm headphone/microphone jack. On the back, another good surprise: an HDMI and a DisplayPort are present. The network interface consists of two RJ45s, one in 1 GbE and the other in 2.5 GbE. Three USBs (one Type-C, two Type-A) complete the picture.

At the heart of the beast, things aren’t bad either with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS APU, 16 or 32 GB of DDR5-5600 via two SO-DIMM slots, a 512 GB or 1 TB M.2 2280 SSD and the Wi-Fi 6E/Bluetooth 5.2 combo. Finally, it was on the top of the beast that AYANEO tried the “little extra thing”.
A “little thing” which takes the form of a 4-inch diagonal touch screen. Presumably configured via the AYASpace software, it allows you to display information on machine monitoring and manage the TDP as well as ventilation. The time or weather can also be displayed.
As we said, the campaign is launched on Indiegogo and is an opportunity to discover some pretty cool prices for this AM02 which starts at $439 barebones or $529 with 16 GB of RAM/512 GB of SSD, for the fastest . In “retail” prices, this comes to 499/659 dollars, but be careful of customs fees.
