Amal and George Clooney donate to three charities in Lebanon to help those affected by the Beirut explosion.
Human rights lawyer Amal (42) and Hollywood star George Clooney (59) want to donate $ 100,000 to three charities in Lebanon. "We are deeply concerned about the people of Beirut and the devastation they have suffered in the past few days," said the couple's statement, quoting US magazine People.
With the "devastation" they refer to the devastating explosion on Tuesday in the port area of the Lebanese capital, in which at least 135 people lost their lives and at least 5,000 were injured.

"Three charities that we have found are providing significant local help: the Lebanese Red Cross, Impact Lebanon and Baytna Baytak," it said. "We will donate $ 100,000 to these charities and hope that others will help in every way possible," said Amal and George Clooney.
The prominent couple has a special relationship with the region. Amal Alamuddin, as she was originally called, was born on February 3, 1978 in Beirut, Lebanon. At the age of two, she and her parents fled Lebanon to London due to the civil war. She has been married to George Clooney since September 2014. The twins Ella and Alexander were born in June 2017.
