She will be replaced by Floriane Bascou on January 14, 2023 in New Orleans for the Miss Universe contest. For that of Miss World, it will be Clémence Botino, Miss France 2020, who will fly away and represent France. On Miss France’s official Instagram account, Diane Leyre explained the reasons that led her to throw in the towel for these two international elections. “Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in the Miss Universe contest due to lack of time and preparation a few weeks before my presentation of the Miss France title, next December”wrote the beauty queen.

Diane Leyre, who “does not like to do things by halves when it comes to representing France internationally”, is happy that Floriane Bascou replaces her. “The choice of my first runner-up, Floriane Bascou, was obvious to live this great adventure. I am sure that she will shine and I will support her like all French people during her journey”promised Miss France 2022. As for the new general manager of Miss France, she also believes in the chances of the two Misses. “For several years our national representatives have succeeded in demonstrating that France was one of the countries most represented in the finalists of international competitions”reacted Cindy Fabre, who replaced Sylvie Tellier.
