The most resistant of the sports watches of the Chinese brand Amazfit is perfected. After the T-Rex and then the T-Rex Pro, here comes the T-Rex 2, a GPS watch designed for outdoor activities and which relies above all on its robustness.
A resistance “military grade“
Amazfit proudly announces that it has passed 15 military-level tests on its T-Rex 2, to ensure its resistance in extreme conditions. The watch can thus withstand extreme cold (down to -30°C) and intense heat (up to 70°C). It is also 10 ATM (100m) waterproof, making it compatible with water sports like surfing. No mention of its impact resistance, however: let’s hope that its glass withstands impacts and resists scratches.
AMOLED display and dual-band GPS
As robust and sporty as it is, the T-Rex 2 does not neglect its display, and incorporates a 1.39″ AMOLED panel with permanent display (always-on). Enough to make the most of the various information provided by its interface. , including real-time navigation and trip tracking based on a dual-band GPS chip.
Barometric altimeter and compass are also on the program to satisfy trail and mountaineering enthusiasts, for example. Although it is aimed at outdoor activities, the T-Rex 2 is also compatible with many other sports, carrying no less than 150 sports modes, including golf, hunting and fishing.
On the health front, a six-photodiode sensor is responsible for measuring heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and stress level.
Up to 24 days of battery life
On the autonomy side, Amazfit announces up to 24 days of use. A duration which can however be reduced depending on the use that we have of it and which we will not fail to check during a future test of this T-Rex 2.
The other strong argument of the Amazfit T-Rex 2 lies in its sale price of 229.90 €, which certainly increases significantly compared to the first T-Rex (139.90 €) and T-Rex Pro (169. 90 €), but remains lower than that of competing watches from major brands such as Garmin or Polar, for example.
