Amazon.com: 39 new renewable energy projects in Europe


(CercleFinance.com) – Amazon announced Monday that it had launched 39 new renewable energy projects in Europe this year, including 15 photovoltaic installations on the roofs of its buildings and 24 wind or solar farms.

In total, the American e-commerce giant currently says it has more than 160 wind and solar projects in 13 European countries.

Its latest projects include the installation of rooftop photovoltaic panels in Belgium, Spain, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, as well as the launch of new solar and wind farms in Germany, Spain, Finland, Greece, the United Kingdom and Sweden.

Once commissioned, all these projects should provide 5.8 gigawatts of clean energy, equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 3.2 million European homes over one year, he said. in a press release.

In total, Amazon’s renewable energy projects in Europe generated 2.4 billion investments between 2014 and 2022 and created more than 3,900 jobs in 2022 alone.

Amazon recalls that it plans to power 100% of its operations with renewable energy by 2025.
