Amazon.com: A series of innovations in generative AI

(CercleFinance.com) – Amazon on Thursday unveiled a series of innovations in the field of generative artificial intelligence (AI), a sector in which the Internet giant is sometimes considered to be lagging behind.

The Seattle group says its Amazon Bedrock technology – which brings together foundation models (FM) developed by groups like AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Stability AI and Amazon itself – is now available to its customers.

This technology can be used in a large number of situations, ranging from the creation of content to the discovery of new drugs, Amazon recalls in its press release.

Its large language model (LLM), called ‘Amazon Titan Embeddings’, offers the possibility of transforming text into digital representations (’embeddings’) allowing content to be searched, personalized or retrieved.

Amazon also specifies that its Amazon Bedrock offering will integrate, within a few weeks, the next generation LLM developed by Meta.

The group also plans to offer, in parallel, its AI computer programming assistant, Amazon CodeWhisperer, which was inspired by billions of lines of code typed by its computer scientists or available in the public domain.

Finally, its Amazon QuickSight business intelligence suite will generate online dashboards, paginated reports and integrated analyses.

With the QuickSight Q functionality, an analyst can, for example, quickly create a visualization tool to illustrate ‘the evolution of sports shoe sales in 2022 and 2023’, says Amazon.

Groups like adidas, BMW, Merck and PGA Tour are already using its innovative tools to develop their products and services, assures the group in its press release.

If its advances in AI are sometimes considered insufficient, Amazon is one – with Apple, Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, Meta and Tesla – of the ‘Magnificent Seven’, that is to say the values ​​considered by Wall Street as the most exposed to artificial intelligence.
