What delivery solutions does Amazon offer?
Here we have collected the main forms of delivery offered by Amazon, not without giving them a little qualification that is entirely subjective, but close to reality. Some will undoubtedly be familiar to you:
- Home delivery: fast and practical, but not always possible.
- Delivery to relay points: economical and flexible, but not always close.
- Amazon Locker delivery: secure and accessible, but limited in size.
- Express delivery: ideal for emergencies, but more expensive.
- Prime delivery: free and unlimited, but reserved for members of the Amazon Prime program.
Amazon delivery, if you are not a Prime member, depends on the type of product you order, the amount of your order, and the delivery method you choose. If you are not a Prime member, delivery will only be free under two conditions:
- Whether you have created a basket with an amount greater than 25 euros.
- And that the items are marked “sold and shipped by Amazon.” »
Our advice, if you wish to receive an order for free with no minimum purchase: choose Click & Collect delivery (in an Amazon Locker or a Counter collection point, located in a local store or a supermarket). But you will have to travel, and depending on where you live, the collection points may be far away, sometimes too far away.
Be careful though, because without the Prime subscription, your delivery will take time in all cases: allow between 2 and 5 working days to receive your package.
Do you want to be delivered quickly? Here are three solutions (they can be expensive)
If you want to receive your order quickly, you will unfortunately have no other solution than to take out a Prime subscription whose price, remember, is set at 6.99 euros/month or 69.90 euros/year, for in particular have access to exclusive promotional offers, the Prime Video streaming platform or even Amazon Music Prime.
We were talking about packages, and thanks to your Prime subscription, you can benefit from free delivery (except obviously the special case of books, the delivery costs of which change from October 4) on millions of products and with no minimum ‘purchase. But above all, you can claim unlimited delivery within 1 working day. This is THE solution if you need any product as quickly as possible.
Note that Amazon offers express delivery, which allows the customer to receive a product more quickly (the e-retailer promises 1 working day delay) than with standard shipping. If you are a Prime member, you will be able to benefit from it on many products, if the products you order are located in one of the group’s European distribution centers. If you are not a Prime member, you will however have to pay shipping costs which may be 5.99 or 7.99 euros.
Finally, there remains the solution of delivery the same evening, but it only applies to certain large cities (Paris and the Paris region, Lille, Marseille, Lyon and Aix-en-Provence), and is billed between 9.99 and 12. 99 euros for customers without subscription. Prime members are entitled to free delivery for an order over 25 euros, and delivery fixed at 4.99 euros below this amount.
Are you away and unable to receive the package? Here are two things to do
In 2023, if your package is likely to enter your mailbox, it is unfortunately possible that once placed inside it will fly away. If you don’t want to take this risk, or if your package is too large, Amazon offers several solutions to its customers.
Delivery to relay point : this is the first solution, the one that you can think of spontaneously, to the extent that your home is surrounded by potential local businesses. That is not always the case. Note that delivery to post offices is now directly linked to relay points. The icing on the cake is that delivery is free, Prime member or not!
Amazon Locker consignment delivery : it’s a trend. Here, your package is safe in a closed and solid location, and you will have a wider opening time than with a local retailer, who may be closed on a given day or at a given time. Collection is simple and perhaps contactless, if you use the barcode associated with the delivery confirmation email. But this mode has a limit: size! If your package is too large, you will not be able to have it delivered to Locker. If you have ordered a television, the choice of Amazon Locker will not even be offered by the platform.
In any case, and for the sake of security, once your order has been placed, do not forget to track your package online. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. You can then go to the Amazon website, or the mobile application, and enter this number in the “Track your package” section. Depending on where you live, you can even geolocate the delivery truck in real time, and know exactly when your package will be delivered.
