(CercleFinance.com) – Amazon announced on Tuesday that the American geographic information group Descartes Labs had decided to switch its data infrastructure to its cloud platform Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The Internet giant indicates that Descartes Labs has planned to migrate several of its functionalities to AWS, in particular related to the processing and analysis of its 20 petabytes of data.
Descartes Labs helps companies derive business insights from massive volumes of satellite and geographic data, using a combination of custom software and services.
The company plans to use ‘Amazon S3’, a web services interface to be used to store and retrieve data at any time, as well as the ‘Amazon OpenSearch’ data search engine.
