Amazon has updated its line of Fire HD 8 tablets. Three versions are on the menu, all equipped with a significantly faster processor, increased storage capacity and an improved design.
Amazon is drawing three new Fire HD 8 tablets at the end of September: the Fire HD 8, Fire HD 8 Plus and Fire HD 8 Kids. The Fire HD 8 vintage 2022 also have a basic, but practical novelty, called “Tap to Alexa”, allowing you to interact with Amazon’s personal assistant without having to use voice command. The triggering of interactions is then done by a simple contextual menu grouping together the main commands.
Three basic, yet affordable tablets
From a technical point of view, the three tablets are based on an 8-inch touch screen limited to a modest definition of 1280 by 800 pixels. Surrounded by wide borders, the latter will not impress anyone in 2022, but it should prove sufficient for most uses. The Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 8 Kids are otherwise equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage. Finally, there are two 2 Mpx cameras housed on the front and rear. The child-friendly version is finally super strong, with a shock-resistant shell provided by default and a two-year “worry-free” guarantee.

A little better equipped, the Fire HD 8 Plus has 3 GB of RAM and a 5 MP rear camera. It also supports 15 W fast charging, but you will need a compatible charger, which is probably sold separately. Amazon finally promises that its Fire HD 8 Plus will allow, like its little sisters, an autonomy of 13 hours in mixed use.
