After a heated controversy on social networks, many associations alerted the Secretary of State for Children and Families, who asked the platform to remove the sex dolls from its site.

According to the UN, more than 750,000 sexual predators are constantly lurking on social media. Chilling figures which push associations to mobilize daily in order to eradicate this problem. This Saturday, August 15, a heated controversy broke out on Twitter concerning the marketing of sex dolls of Asian girls sold by Amazon. Many internet users and associations have alerted the giant as well as the Secretary of State for Children and Families, Adrien Taquet.

Immediate measures

The International Association of Victims of Incest issued the alert on Saturday, August 15, 2020 on its Twitter account. These objects are "illegal because article 227-23 of the Penal Code prohibits the representation of a minor when this representation is pornographic", indicated the association.

Following the controversy, Adrien Taquet, who is to set up an independent commission on sexual violence against children in the fall, immediately called for the sale of the dolls to be stopped. "Following the alerts from associations that I thank, I asked Amazon France to end the marketing on their platform of sex dolls with the effigy of children", detailed Adrien Taquet on Twitter, "What Amazon France did immediately by committing to remain vigilant".

"The protection of children and adolescents is a priority for us", for its part reacted Amazon France. " All vendor partners are required to follow our sales policies and any breach will result in the application of appropriate action, which includes, but is not limited to, the potential deletion of the vendor's account ”.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Amazon has been negligent. In 2018, the online sales site was pinned for selling a book called "The pedophile's guide to love and pleasure" (The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure), by Phillip R. Greaves. The giant initially hid behind the refusal of censorship before permanently removing the book from its platform.
