If everyone knows Amazonthe essential online retailer, its branch Amazon Games dedicated to video game development has yet to prove itself. Crucible was quickly abandoned, while New World does not have the popularity of MMORPG competitors. But the American firm is not giving up.

He joined teams in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego and Seattle to develop and publish games. Amazon Games has recruited Cristian Pana to lead this new studiohe already has a 20-year career in the industry and was notably general manager at Ubisoft Bucharestworking on franchises like The Division, The Crew, far cry or Avatar. An impressive CV, but one that will continue to grow, Cristian Pana declares:

I’m excited to join Amazon Games at a time when the team is actively working towards an exciting roadmap. I have built and led exceptional teams in the past and know that this region of Europe is a hotspot for some of the best talent in gaming.

Christoph Hartmann, vice president ofAmazon Gamesadds:

Amazon Games is focused on developing and publishing great games, and we have an ambitious long-term roadmap ahead of us. Our desire to develop our games portfolio has naturally led us to expand our internal development teams in Europe. Bucharest is known for being one of the best emerging European cities for game development and we can’t wait to discover the talents that reside there.

Many projects are underway at Amazon Gameswhether it is the edition of the next tomb Raider of Crystal Dynamicsthe location in the West of MMORPG Throne and Liberty or the development of another MMORPG in the universe of Lord of the Rings.
