Amazon just released one of the best series of the year, and you can watch it without fear because Prime Video is already working on season 2 of this sci-fi epic

Highly awaited by gamers and science fiction fans, “Fallout” has already brought together critics and spectators with an overall rating of 3.8 out of 5. We tell you everything about this new sci-fi slap, by the creators of “Westworld.”

What is it about ?

Fallout tells the story of the survivors of a world where there is almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the inhabitants of the luxurious fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated apocalyptic landscape that their ancestors left behind and find themselves shocked to discover this incredibly complex, joyously strange and extremely violent world that awaits them .

Who is it with?

It’s the young Ella Purnell (seen notably in Yellowjackets) who headlines Fallout. She plays Lucy, an optimistic and upright young woman who leaves her fallout shelter to save her father (Kyle MacLachlan).

On her way, she will come across Maximus (Aaron Moten), a member of the Brotherhood of Steel who will help her on her journey, as well as a Ghoul (a man who has undergone mutations) played by Walter Goggins.

It’s worth checking out ?

This is THE big (and only) release of the month of April on Prime Video. And we understand why. The platform put online yesterday the 8 episodes of Fallout, the series adaptation of the successful video game saga. With ambitions to continue the franchise, since season 2 is already in development.

For those who don’t know, these video games immerse us in a post-apocalyptic world with a retro-futuristic spirit in which you play several characters who must survive in a devastated and lawless world.

Fallout is not a faithful adaptation of the RPG, but it is a new story set in the same universe. In other words, if you’ve never played it, you will still understand the issues.

The first sequence of the series, which takes place 200 years before the main action, sets the scene, but without giving us too much information. We only know that the United States suffered a nuclear attack and that only the wealthiest – who were able to build a shelter – were able to survive the radioactive fallout.

Who is behind all this? You will have to advance in viewing to get answers.

Prime Video

this is a ghoul.

The Fallout universe is quite unique. Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan – already at work on Westworld – have designed a world of uninhibited violence, in the vein of Kingsman.

A style that they clearly borrow from video games where it is very common to shoot your enemy’s head at point blank range (with slow motion, as a bonus) or to cut up bodies. The choice of music, often country, contrasts and defuses this gore side.

But if that’s not your cup of tea, then move on. Also move on if you are entomophobe (especially cockroaches) because the series is full of insects and other beasts which have undergone genetic mutations over the years (or close your eyes, like the author of this article) .

Once past these few oddities, we dive into this strange and crazy world with great pleasure and let ourselves be guided by its heroine (sometimes unbearable, but that’s accepted) who discovers, just like us, the Wasteland.

While searching for her kidnapped father, she is assigned a mission by a mysterious scientist (played by the brilliant Michael Emerson) who could change the world…

Fallout, 8 episodes to watch on Prime Video.
