Amazon now offers its customers the possibility of trying on their future shoes remotely.
A feat that we owe to augmented reality of course, and available initially on iOS.
Your future sneakers to try in AR via Amazon
The e-commerce giant aims to make online fashion shopping easier for its customers, and to this end is launching its Virtual Try-On for Shoes function. An interactive mobile experience that allows customers to try on and view a pair of shoes from all angles before considering a purchase, all from the comfort of their home or on the go.
Currently available only in the United States and Canada, via iOS, the Virtual Try-On for Shoes function allows you to try on hundreds of sneakers, from a selection of brands such as Adidas, Reebok, Puma, Lacoste, Asics or New Balance again. The operation is simple: after selecting a pair of sneakers, all you have to do is point your feet with the photo sensor of your smartphone. The sneakers therefore appear shod (virtually of course) at the feet of the user, who can observe them from all angles.
Customers can easily change the colors of selected shoes by scrolling through the carousel of options without ever leaving the experience. Remember that Amazon is used to augmented reality, since the group had already launched a similar function in 2017 to position an object in the house. A partnership with L’Oréal also allows customers to visualize makeup on their face, always with the help of augmented reality.
