  • The music streaming service Amazon Music Unlimited is becoming more expensive.
  • Instead of 9.99 euros, the subscription will soon cost 10.99 per month.
  • According to Amazon, the price increase will take place on February 21, 2023.

Amazon Music Unlimited will also soon cost more: After the price of Amazon’s Prime subscription increased last year, it is now the turn of the members of the music streaming service.

The usual Amazon Music Unlimited subscription will cost EUR 10.99 per month instead of the previous EUR 9.99. The student tariff will also increase: the discounted subscription will soon cost EUR 5.99 instead of EUR 4.99. The family subscription is also more expensive – by two euros: 16.99 euros is the new monthly price for the family plan, previously it was only 14.99 euros.

The price increase for Amazon Music Unlimited is to come into effect on February 21, 2023. Amazon is thus following the general trend towards price increases – including for audio streaming services. The competition from Apple made Apple Music more expensive in addition to Apple TV+ last year.

Market leader Spotify initially seems to be sticking to its current prices. However, this may also be due to the fact that the Swedes have still not made the leap to hi-fi quality, despite various announcements. Both Amazon Music Unlimited and Apple Music completed the upgrade in early 2022 at no direct surcharge for customers.
